Overview

Knowlix capabilities are extended through installable application modules. The Apps dashboard provides centralized management for installing, upgrading, and removing system modules.
Important: Installing or removing modules affects database records and may change subscription costs. Always test changes in a staging environment before applying to production databases.

Browsing Apps

Navigate to the Apps application to view available modules. A default filter shows primary applications. Select Extra from the Filters menu to also display technical modules and supporting dependencies.

Installing Applications

Find the desired application using the search bar or by browsing the catalog. Click Activate on the application card to install. Dependency installation: Some applications require other modules to function. The system automatically installs required dependencies when you activate an app, even if you do not plan to use the dependency directly. If an application does not appear in the list, activate Developer mode and run Apps → Update Apps List to refresh the catalog.

Upgrading Applications

When system updates are available, upgrade individual applications to receive new features and improvements. Navigate to the application in the Apps dashboard, click the menu icon on the app card, and select Upgrade.

Uninstalling Applications

Warning: Uninstalling an application permanently deletes all related database records. This action cannot be undone. Test in a duplicate database before proceeding on production.
Click the menu icon on the application card and select Uninstall. The confirmation window displays:
  • Apps to Uninstall: Application and all dependent modules that will be removed
  • Documents to Delete: Database records that will be permanently deleted
Enable Show All to view every dependency scheduled for removal. Click Uninstall to confirm and proceed. Dependency cascading: Removing one app may trigger removal of other apps that depend on it. Review the full removal list carefully before confirming.
