Command Palette

The command palette is a powerful universal search tool that lets you quickly access any part of Knowlix without navigating through menus.

  1. Press Ctrl/Command + K to open the palette

  3. Use arrow keys to navigate results
  4. Press Enter to open the selected item in the current tab
  5. Press Ctrl/Command + Enter to open in a new tab
Example workflow:
  • Type /sales to quickly open the Sales module
  • Type @sarah to view Sarah’s user profile
  • Type #support to jump to the support team channel

Module-Specific Shortcuts

  • Hold Ctrl (or Command on macOS) while in the module
  • A tooltip overlay will display available shortcuts for visible elements
  • Release the key to dismiss the overlay

  1. Navigate to System Settings
  2. Go to User Interface → Keyboard Shortcuts
  3. Select the shortcut to modify
  4. Enter the new key combination
  5. Click Save
Important: Avoid using shortcuts that conflict with browser or operating system defaults (like Ctrl+W to close tabs or Ctrl+T to open new tabs).

Shortcut Not Working

Verify operating system shortcuts: Operating systems reserve certain combinations (like Alt+Tab on Windows). These cannot be overridden by Knowlix.

Check your current context: Some shortcuts behave differently depending on where you are in Knowlix. For example, “create new” might create different record types depending on the active module. Verify keyboard layout: Non-English keyboard layouts may have different key positions for special characters or modifiers.
